Today I bought my own domain name – GWallace.org. Woo hoo! Welcome to my new home on the web.
This is my new space to share my thoughts and things that interest me. I have a passion for domain names and have started regular buying mid 2025. I have been a web professional for over 25 years, starting as a solo developer/designer, then forming an agency which I sold out of.
I now run my own agency from home and partner with the best people I have worked with. Good relationships matter a lot and I am lucky to have some good connections. This has given me incredible flexibility to juggle family life and free time. Domains are a natural extension to this, being able to do it from anywhere in the world at any time.
This experience has given me an edge as I have bought many names or advised on them for clients over this time. I have a big soft spot for .org domains so it was fitting that I got my own (finally).
Domain names are digital real estate and the internet is still growing, so the investment of time and money is a no brainer to me. I really enjoy the entire research process. The domain community on X is great and I am really excited about the future of domains.
Looking forward to writing more about my domain name journey soon.
If you haven’t heard of Domain Sherpa, this is a regular podcast with seasoned domainers sharing insights and tips. The episode below has some really great insights on domains. If you watch this you will know why .org domains are my favourite to buy. I own more of them than any other extension.
